The best cenotes of Valladolid
Cenote Tza Itza
It is a closed-type cenote within a cave, which has a side entrance on its north side from where the interior is accessed through a staircase carved into the rock.
The color of the water is clear, its water mirror measures 7.76 meters long by 10.47 meters wide and a maximum depth of 40 meters. It has a submerged cavern on the south side. The dry grotto is 8 meters wide, 30 meters long and 5 meters high. It is a site very visited by the inhabitants who use it as a spa.
It is recommended not to leave garbage inside and near the site, as well as to avoid the use of sunscreen.
This cenote is located 36 kilometers from the city of Mérida in the Villa de Tecoh. It can be reached starting from the center of the town towards the eastern peripheral or advancing 1.5 kilometers above it, taking as a reference point the entrance to the town and from there to the right bank 200 more meters.
