Cenote Chelentun
This semi-closed type cenote inside a cave, It is one of the most visited since it is part of the Cuzamá cenote circuit. It has an 8-meter-long concrete staircase and a wooden platform to access the water. The water mirror is blue in color and measures 48 meters long by 20 meters wide and has a maximum depth of 15 meters. It was used in times of the henequen boom by the landowners as a spa, of which some vestiges are still preserved. It is administered by an ejido group that provides maintenance to the facilities for which it charges a modest entrance fee. The use of life jackets is recommended, avoid the use of sunscreen and be very careful when descending the ladder.
This cenote is located 57 kilometers from the city of Mérida. You arrive at the town of Cuzamá, go south, towards the Chunkanán farm, where you take the transport at the tourist parador of the municipality, to travel 3 kilometers towards the west by truck line (narrow track of rails where a rustic platform runs pulled by horses).
